You may obtain more personal and better care at an overseas hospital than in your home country. Many of these hospitals specialize in international medical care; they provide exceptional quality and service. Many of these hospitals and their physicians specialize in a certain category of procedures, for example cardiovascular care or orthopedic treatments, more so than some North American hospitals.
Equipment and facilities are actually very comparable to those in Canada and the US. You and your home physician will be able to review the facilities by video and/or slide show and choose facilities and nursing support care that meet your personal objectives, all at costs far below the cost of standard treatment in a US hospital.
